Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Operate cash register. Scan items. Receive payment for goods or services. Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales. Stock shelves and clean counter area. Greet customers. Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products. Train or assist in the training of other workers. Perform opening and closing activities. Develop and implement marketing strategies. Determine merchandise and services to be sold. Determine staffing requirements. Manage staff and assign duties. Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages. Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors). Direct and control daily operations .
