Al Premium Food Mart is one of the only large-scale supermarkets in greater Toronto area that caters to more than one million visible minority population. In addition to the stuff you would normally find in a grocery store that caters to more mainstream tastes like vegetables, fruits, milk, and potato chips, Al Premium proudly birings various other items that cater to the East Asian (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Korean), Southeast Asian (e.g. Malaysian, Thai, Filipino)?European?Canadian and South Asian (e.g. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) diaspora. With our rapid expansion in GTA. We operate 3 grand stores in Toronto. We teamed up with Walmart since 2015 and have 10 Walmart in-stores in Toronto and 4 Walmart in-stores in West area.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Associate who is motivated by working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.
*Job Summary*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our organization has the necessary materials and supplies to operate efficiently. This position requires strong vendor management skills, the ability to negotiate favorable prices, and a solid understanding of supply chain processes.
*Responsibilities*
* Procure goods and services by sourcing vendors and negotiating prices to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
* Manage vendor relationships, maintaining communication to ensure timely delivery and quality of products.
* Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
* Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary to avoid shortages.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor information in the procurement system.
* Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings.
* Assist in the fabrication of purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies.
* Support the development of procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles is preferred.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms from vendors.
* Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
* Familiarity with sourcing strategies and vendor management techniques.
* Proficiency in using procurement systems
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
* Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance and market conditions.
