The Board of Directors at North Queens Nursing Home is seeking an Executive Director.North Queens Nursing Home is a 44-bed Long Term Care Facility located in Caledonia, Nova Scotia. Caledonia is a rural community of Queens County, close to Kejimkujik National Park and in close proximity to both the South Shore and Annapolis Valley. At North Queens Nursing Home the residents are the focus of everything that we do. We enable clients to be a part of the community and to enjoy life as if still at home. We offer services that enrich lives: social interaction, activities and hobbies, excellent nutrition and personal care, and the necessary nursing and medical care so often needed by the elderly. The Executive Director is a full-time position. They are accountable to the Board of Directors for North Queens Nursing Home. The Executive Director has the authority, responsibility and accountability to carry out assigned duties to direct the overall operation of the Home. The Executive Director must have a commitment and passion for person centered care. Qualifications:1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a field of study relevant to the operations of the home is preferred. An equivalent experience, specifically in Long Term Care, may be considered.2. Five years management experience at the senior level, preferably in long term care3. Demonstrated leadership in all areas related to the position: including strategic planning, operations and service delivery, human resources and financial management4. Demonstrated self-starter with excellent organizational skills5. Ability to set priorities6. Capable of working under the direction of the Board7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills8.
