<p>Employment Type:  Full-time (3 Short-term Contract) Department : Children and Youth Services Union: Included (CUPE) Salary: $18 per hour File #: 26-SCY-15 (3 OPEN) Posting Date: April 24, 2026 Posting Close : May 08, 2026 Reason for vacancy: New position (3 vacancies) This role is a part of Canada Summer Jobs 2026 program.</p><p>Position Overview: Reporting to the Supervisor, Children & Youth Services, Day Camp Counsellor, Sr.</p><p>is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of an eight-week summer camp program.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities Participate in camp training & agency orientation.</p><p>Assists in the development of the summer camp program plan.</p><p>Ensure the safety & security of the camp.</p><p>Lead in responding to critical situations.</p><p>Provide guidance & support to camp counselors.</p><p>Responsible for supervising children.</p><p>Maintain professional relationship with peers, children & community members.</p><p>Other duties as assigned.</p><p>Qualifications Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.</p><p>Knowledge and understanding of working with children & youth.</p><p>Able to multi-task.</p><p>Ability to accept supervision and seek counsel.</p><p>Dependable, punctual and flexible.</p><p>Second language an asset.</p><p>Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.</p><p>Currently enrolled or recently completed a diploma, degree and/or other certificate in a post-secondary institution.</p><p>Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.</p><p>Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.</p><p>In order to be eligible, participants must: Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.</p><p>Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.</p><p>Have a valid SIN NOTE : International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.</li><li>  Dixon Hall may use Artificial Intelligence-assisted tools during the recruitment process to support efficiency and consistency.</p><p>Final hiring decisions are made by the Human Resources team.</p><p>Dixon Hall is dedicated to fostering an inclusive selection process and work environment, guided by their Race Relations and Employment Equity Policies.</p><p>If selected for an interview, please inform the hiring manager or the People and Culture team of any accommodations you may require during the interview process.</p><p>To achieve their goal of inclusivity and diversity, Dixon Hall actively seeks exceptional candidates from varied backgrounds and with lived experiences.</p><p>Individuals who self-identify as being from marginalized communities, including Indigenous peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and those from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community or who have experienced homelessness, are strongly encouraged to apply.</p><p>Powered by JazzHR</p>- Location Toronto, ON
